Create a project in Google Cloud Console, enable “Maps JavaScript API” and “Places API (New)”, then generate a new API key under Credentials. Yes. Unlike the previous DAWA-based solution, which only supported Danish addresses, the plugin is now built on the Google Places API and supports addresses worldwide. You can choose which countries to show suggestions for.
Yes, and we recommend it. Under “API restrictions” in Google Cloud Console, you can limit the key to only work on your own domain (HTTP referrer restriction) and only for the APIs the plugin uses. This prevents misuse if the key is ever exposed.
